I just want a way to easily control Cubase and my libraries without diddling with a mouse. And the non-keyboard controllers are all missing the mod wheel and expression wheels. And in the under $250 range questionable quality and not a simple matter of invoking an XML file. Saw a few reviews of 49 and 61 key controller keyboards and only one of them seemed to have reliable Learn functionality. I’ve diddled some with the Quick Link and Generic Remote functions and even if they work, kind of a pain in the butt to get all the functionality working you want. Looks so enticing- you just click on a software knob or jiggle a hardware knob, invoke the “Learn” function, and voila, an instant custom mapping of your hardware and software to Cubase. ![]() On Axiom 25 these knobs control the track volume for. Very, very frustrating watching videos of this “Learn” function and then, after peeling that onion a bit, finding that the controllers are kinda spotty in terms of how well that works.
